2016 ArtsFest Events

Friday, June 24th

ArtsFest Gallery Walk
5 pm to 8 pm
FREE – Parade through downtown art galleries while also visiting the area’s lovely boutiques. Many of the galleries will be hosting live music, on-site artists and beverages. Also famed DJ Trend will be downtown starting at 8 pm for an “after” party. Music will include a Top 40 mix with oldies, 80s, 90s, rock, funk, disco and dance. 

While the 2016 Gallery Walk will feature many artists from around the region, one up and coming artist will be Jacob Feazel – an 18-year-old graduate from Maconaquah High School whose Beatles Art Project has drawn national attention. Jacob’s future plans are to attend IUK and start his educational journey in becoming an animator, which he hopes one day will lead him to Disney.

Wabass Recital

7 pm – Buy Tickets
$15 per ticket – General Admission – Watch Wabass Institute students from around the world perform after an intensive summer music camp exclusively for double bass players that covers the entire spectrum of bass playing from classical to jazz and orchestral excerpts.

6:30 pm – SOLD OUT
$40 per person – After enjoying the Gallery Walk, join an intimate group outdoors at 6:30 pm for a farm-to-table, pop-up fine dining experience in the heart of Wabash with featured chef Andrew Smith. Smith has worked at the award-winning restaurant Joseph Decuis in Roanoke, and is currently a partner with Affine. He is also planning a new restaurant opening in the spring of 2016.

Saturday, June 25th

Jewelry Workshop

Noon – 3 pm – Buy Tickets
$35 per ticket – Work with world-renowned jewelry artist Mary Hettmansperger at her downtown Wabash studio designing jewelry with various techniques and media.

Taste the Hops

3 pm – Buy Tickets
$15 per ticket – Discover your new favorite craft beer as you sample offerings from regional breweries and beyond. Enjoy up to six 5-ounce tastings, coupled with a tasty spread of munchies, while decoding ale flavors and learning more about the brew process.

Jennie DeVoe
Eagles Theatre
7:30 pm – Buy Tickets
$15 per ticket – General Admission – Indianapolis-based singer / songwriter Jennie DeVoe’s sultry vocals evolve from a passionate rasp to pure blues belter to soulful gospel in her performances that take audience members on a ride with lyrics filled with love, warmth and spirit.

Sunday June 26th

M. Travis DiNicola “The Art of the Matter”

$10 per ticket – General Admission – ArtsFest Artistic Director Ranaan Meyer sets the stage for a live interview with M. Travis DiNicola, executive director of Indy Reads and co-host of “The Art of the Matter” – an arts talk show on WFYI Indianapolis Public Broadcasting. Ranaan will call up DiNicola’s captivating skills as a storyteller to bring audience members insight on adult literacy in Indiana, the importance of arts in local culture and a touch of humor during this intimate event.
